What is the difference between Angus and Wagyu? 

  • Wagyu is known for its intense, fine marbling throughout the muscle.  This contributes to its tenderness and rich flavor throughout.

  • Angus, while also marbled, tends to be more concentrated around the edges of the muscle

What is the flavor of Wagyu like? 

  • Wagyu offers a rich and buttery flavoring due to the fat content and specific diet.  It is also exceptionally tender due to the fat content 

Is Wagyu healthy given the fat content? 

  • In short, yes!  Wagyu beef has a higher content of monounsaturated fats and omega fatty acids, which are known to be beneficial for heart health and overall well-being

Why is Wagyu more expensive?

  • Wagyu cattle are fed a special diet, often including high-quality grain and protein, to promote slow, natural weight gain and marbling 

  • They are typically raised for a longer period of time than other beef breeds which in turn, requires more care and attention
